ARAM: Mayhem is one of the most popular rotating game modes we’ve seen in League of Legends in a long time. And to the joy of many players, who until now didn’t know whether it would dissapear with the new season, the game modes tenure has been extended after ‘overwhelmingly positive feedback.’
That is according to Riot Spideraxe, who has shared this post on X, where he also teases a major update to the mode in patch 26.3:
What is ARAM: Mayhem?
ARAM: Mayhem is basically ARAM with an Arena twist.
You still queue into a 5v5 on the Howling Abyss with random champions and constant fighting, but before the game really gets rolling you also get Augments: special power-ups that change how your champ plays for that match.
Instead of ARAM being “same map, same poke comps, same teamfights,” Mayhem turns every lobby into a bit of a build-your-own-chaos scenario. One game you might become a tanky nuisance that never dies, the next you turn into a burst monster, a movement-speed rocket, or a support that suddenly feels unfair.
The key thing to know: Augments create wild power spikes and weird combos, so matches are faster, swingier, and way more unpredictable than normal ARAM. You can still win with good teamfights and engages.
In short, ARAM: Mayhem is the “pure chaos” version of ARAM: same one-lane brawl, but with random champions plus augment picks that can turn any game into a highlight reel.
