A title without Caps

Mikyx has seven LEC titles, all won alongside Caps on G2. He knows the stat, and he leaned into it with a smile after the win over GIANTX.

To lift the trophy in Madrid, Fnatic would need three best-of-five wins in a row: first Karmine Corp, then MKOI, and finally G2. The path is steep, but Mikyx sees a window.

“I think on a good day we can probably beat everyone. So, let’s see if we can have three good days in a row.”

Even so, he accepts the wider sentiment that Fnatic enter as the fourth seed on form.

“Right now we’re probably the underdog out of the other four top four teams.”

A victory over KC would not only keep the title dream alive, it would also lock in a Worlds ticket to China.

From 10k up to 0–3 down

Coming into the GIANTX series, many labeled it the must-watch matchup. Even GIANTX’s ADC and mid laner predicted it would go the distance. It did not.

In game 1, GIANTX built a 10k gold lead, secured two Barons and an Elder, yet failed to close. Once the game slipped, momentum unraveled fast. Fnatic seized control, swept the series, and even Mikyx admitted the result surprised him.

“I’m feeling relieved, I guess, a little bit surprised as well because I thought it was going to be a way closer series.”

While Fnatic’s opener owed plenty to GIANTX’s mistakes, Mikyx still found a positive to bank.

“It made it reassuring that we can still win even if we are so far behind.”

Fnatic face KC on September 26 in Madrid with a spot at Worlds on the line.
