With Worlds 2025 off to a roaring start, we finally get an NA vs EU clash in Swiss with a playoffs berth on the line. G2 vs FlyQuest is the matchup Western fans asked for.
On the latest episode of The Dive, LTAN caster Isaac “Azael” Cummings-Bentley weighed in on the matchup.
Is EU weak?
“I think the only place I favor G2 is the mid lane,” Azael said on the podcast.
Few will be shocked to see most analysts favor Caps over Quad in mid. That is where his G2 advantage stops. Up top, Azael did not mince words about the broader EU pool:
“I think the toplaners in Europe are extremely weak.”
He called out names while discussing recent international form, noting that EU in general is weak in the toplane.
“Oscarinin is not good at all,” and adding that “Myrwn is not very good.”
Even when the discussion moved bot side and the Busio/Massu duo against Hans Sama/Labrov, Azael stayed loyal to North America:
“I think we have a better bot lane.”
Azael flagged two G2 advantages that could swing a best-of series:
“I’m scared of their drafting and Caps’ X-factor.”
If G2 land the right comps and Caps finds room to take over, like on his Anivia against BLG, maybe FlyQuest will have to be wary.
