Vitality steadied after dropping the opener to Karmine Corp and closed the series 2-1 to qualify for playoffs. With momentum from their 2-0 sweep of NaVi, Mateusz “Czajek” Czajka set expectations:
“If we play like we did in games 2 and 3, we can easily beat Fnatic.”
That confidence comes from a simple reset after game one.
“We switched our mindset [from game 1], we just sent it,” Czajek says. “We stopped overthinking and played simple. That works best for us.”
Top 3 as the route to Worlds
The goal is explicit. “I hope we can make Worlds,” Czajek says. “I think we’ll make top 3. That’s my expectation.” It is ambition framed with a benchmark the roster can chase immediately. The confidence extends to their peers at the top.
“G2 is G2, They’re beatable easily with the way we play. From scrims, it’s not like they’re stomping us. I think it’s possible to beat anyone in the league.”
The personal motivation is straightforward. “My expectation is top 3 because I want to go to Worlds. That’s my little dream. Small steps.” He knows what that stage would mean. “I really want to go, so I’m trying my best.”
Reset culture, clear calls, and a happier bot lane
Vitality’s reset after game one did not happen by accident. It comes from a room that refuses to spiral between maps.
“We keep a really good mood, even when we’re losing,” Czajek explains. “There’s always the next game. Everyone makes mistakes, and we just learn from them. No need to be down.”
That composure held in the final push of game three when opinions differed on the call to end.

“Fleshy and Lyncas were saying, ‘Maybe we can’t end,’ but Carzzy was confident: ‘We’re ending for sure, they only have two useful players.’ We trusted his call and went for it.”
Czajek points to Carzzy as a key driver of the good mood.
“Since he’s been playing with Fleshy, he’s a lot happier,” he says of his ADC. “It was harder before with Nisqy, because Nisqy wasn’t really a support player and didn’t see the angles a support would. Now with Fleshy, Carzzy has a partner who understands everything. He’s much happier and it translates to the whole team.”
A format that rewards resilience
The current format helps showcase that resilience.
“As long as it stays best of threes and not best of ones, I’m happy. If today had been best of one, we’d have lost. There would be no comeback. But in best of three, you always have room to bounce back.”
The closing word goes to the fans who have tracked the rise over recent weeks.
“Thank you so much for supporting. I see all the messages on Twitter, and they mean a lot. I hope you keep it up, I’ll do my best to.”
