Riot’s latest dev video lays out a new twist on ARAM, tougher measures against smurfing and account sales, stronger privacy tools for creators, and a slate of Arcane and shop updates across the next patches.
ARAM: Mayhem lands in Patch 25.21
- ARAM: Mayhem is ARAM with Augments, inspired by Wild Rift’s AAA ARAM, tailored 5v5 chaos with some mode-specific augments.
- Standard ARAM stays available in a separate queue while Mayhem is live.
- Koeshin’s Crossing and Butcher’s Bridge become permanent ARAM maps.
- Performance fixes began in 25.19, with more improvements rolling out over the next patches.
Smurfing, account sales, and account linking
- Since 25.18 Riot has acted on boosting and hitchhiking with over 99 percent accuracy in more than ten thousand cases, with volume ramping up in the coming weeks.
- Ban waves since last month: 400,000 ranked-used purchased accounts, 1.5 million botted and sold accounts, plus 2.5 million accounts waiting to be sold.
- An FAQ answers common questions about purchased, sold, or shared accounts. Accounts bought or sold from 25.18 onward will be detected and banned.
- Starting in patch 25.23, account linking will carry punishments across alts that Riot is highly confident share the same owner, covering dodging penalties, chat restrictions, and escalations.
Streamer Mode upgrades in Patch 25.20
With the new patch you get three privacy options:
- Hide Other Names, same as today’s mode
- Hide My Name, hides Riot ID and game name but not visible progression
- Hide My Everything, hides all identifying info from lobby to end of game
Arcane anniversary in Patch 25.23
- Free mini reward track with new icons and emotes.
- All Arcane skins from Seasons 1 and 2 return.
- Arcane Fractured Jinx gets a spawn animation, visual updates across all three forms, new recalls for Shimmer Jinx and Powder, and unique chompers. Existing owners receive the upgrades for free.
Quality of life and shop dates
- Practice Tool solo unlocks every champion in 25.21 to help you test before buying.
- Emote tag search improvements arrive before year end.
- Blue Essence Emporium returns in 25.23.
- Your Shop returns in 25.24.
