The 2025 LEC Summer Split kicked off with an action-packed opening weekend. Fnatic went undefeated, GIANTX’ Noah delivered one of the plays of the year, and several teams showed both promise and problems.
Highlight of the week
In Game 2 of GIANTX vs KC, Noah popped off with a perfectly timed teamfight clean-up, to secure all five kills in the flashiest moment of the 1st week of the Summer Split. Pentakills are rare and this one was also the first one of the 2025 LEC Summer Split.
Saturday, August 2nd
Natus Vincere 0 – 2 Karmine Corp
NaVi’s LEC debut ended in a one-sided 0–2 loss to Karmine Corp. KC played with confidence and control, while NaVi struggled to find footing in either game. A strong start for KCorp and a harsh first taste of the league for the newcomers.
Team Heretics 1 – 2 Fnatic
Fnatic opened their Summer Split with a 2–1 win over Heretics. They played a disciplined style, focused on scaling and teamfighting, while Heretics couldn’t convert early momentum. A solid start for Fnatic, who looked more composed than expected for Week 1.
Sunday, August 3rd
Team BDS 2 – 0 SK Gaming
Team BDS took down SK Gaming 2–0 with a confident and proactive showing. Rookie top laner Rooster stood out with two strong performances, and BDS controlled the pace from early game to finish. SK never looked fully coordinated and fell behind quickly in both games.
GIANTX 1 – 2 Karmine Corp
Karmine Corp claimed their second win of the weekend with a 2–1 victory over GIANTX. Game 2 featured the highlight of the week: Noah’s Jinx pentakill. But even that moment wasn’t enough to shift the momentum. KC regrouped and closed the series with clean teamplay.
Monday, August 4th
SK Gaming 0 – 2 Fnatic
Fnatic closed out their week with another 2–0 win, this time against SK. Upset’s Yunara pick helped lead the team through clean fights and objective setups. SK couldn’t keep up and ended Week 1 at 0–2, needing to address clear coordination issues.
GIANTX 2 – 0 Team Vitality
GIANTX bounced back from their earlier loss with a dominant 2–0 win over Vitality. Isma dictated the flow of both games from the jungle, while Vitality failed to match their tempo or find winning lanes. A much-needed recovery for GX, who looked sharp and decisive across the map.
