The controversial owner of X has made a post saying that he wants his AI, known as “Grok”, to beat “the best human team” in League of Legends in 2026.
An experiment of this kind has been attempted in the Dota 2 scene, where the reigning world champions OG took on OpenAI and lost spectacularly 2–0.

The official T1 X account has responded to Elon Musk’s post with the words “We are ready, R U?”
Elon Musk asked for the best, and that is exactly what he is getting, as T1 have just won Worlds for the third year in a row, completing the first ever three-peat in League of Legends esports history.
Criticism from former LCK caster
The response from T1 has garnered some criticism, as former LCK caster Maurits “Chronicler” Meeusen quote-tweeted T1’s post with the words:
“How the fuck are we still pandering to Elon Musk in 2025 man.”
In a follow-up tweet he added:
“Also if u read this and ur first instinct is to defend Elon please unfollow me, i have always hated and will always hate billionaires and you should too – their existence is a failure of us as a species, no one should possess that level of wealth”
