The much-anticipated League of Legends Split Three gameplay changes have arrived, introducing a variety of new features, adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements. With updates to the shop, item nerfs, objective banners, and the return of Lethal Tempo, this update aims to refresh the game’s dynamics. Below, we’ll go over all the major changes, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the latest meta shift.
Biscuit Delivery Now Grants Health
One of the first notable changes is to Biscuit Delivery. In previous patches, this rune granted Mana, but now it offers Health instead. This change should make early-game survivability more accessible, especially for champions who don’t rely heavily on mana regeneration but still need sustain during the laning phase.
Lethal Tempo Returns with a Twist
Lethal Tempo is back, but it’s not the same as before. The new version no longer grants bonus attack speed and range, nor does it increase the attack speed cap. Instead, it now causes your attacks to deal bonus adaptive damage, which increases by 1% per 1% bonus attack speed. This scaling mechanic rewards champions who build attack speed, making Lethal Tempo an excellent choice for hyper-carries looking to maximize late-game damage.
Changes to the In-Game Shop
The in-game shop has undergone a significant change as well. When buying items, the shop now says “craft” instead of “purchase.” It appears the shopkeeper has grown tired of providing free items, so now we must build them ourselves. This new crafting system doesn’t change how items work, but it adds a unique flavor to the shopping experience.
A new feature has also been added to the shop: the P item queue system. This allows you to select any epic or legendary item and queue it. The system tells you when you’ve accumulated enough gold to buy the item by showing a circular progress bar. Once the circle is full, you know you can complete the item. You can even click on the queued item to be taken directly to it in the shop.
In addition, if you don’t have enough gold for a full item, there’s an option to purchase the components, prioritizing the most expensive parts first. This makes building high-tier items like Leeching Leer more intuitive, as the shop will help you automatically acquire components like the Large Rod and Amplifying Tome.
New Objective Banners
Another exciting addition is the objective banners. These banners appear for key events such as Dragon, Rift Herald, Baron, or Void grabs, providing a clearer visual cue when important objectives are spawning. This change helps teams stay focused on the map and reduces the chance of missing critical moments during a match.
Quality of Life Updates
A range of quality-of-life updates has been introduced to make gameplay smoother and more intuitive. Some of the most useful include:
- Health Potions Flashing: When you’re low on health, your health potions will flash, reminding you to use them before it’s too late.
- Gold Flashing Reminder: If you leave the fountain without making a purchase, your gold should flash to remind you. However, this feature seems to be a bit buggy as of now.
- Invasion Ping for Junglers: If your jungle is being invaded, a ping will alert your team, giving them a chance to react in time.
- “My Bad” Emote: A new emote, the “My Bad” mode, allows players to quickly acknowledge their mistakes, fostering better team communication.
What’s Next?
These changes, alongside the extensive item nerfs that were covered in a separate video, have shaken up the League of Legends landscape for Split Three. As always, Riot is encouraging player feedback to fine-tune these updates.
